Personal Trainer

my story

I’m a busy 40 something mum of two. Keeping fit has always been important to me but with the kids and a full time job, finding the time and energy to exercise and be healthy has not been easy.

I was a sporty kid – one of those weirdos that loved PE in the rain! I went on to study Sports Science at Loughborough University, and have made a career out of helping others to be active.

But, real life so easily gets in the way. I like wine, I like pizza – I think life’s too short not to! Life gets busy with work, social occasions, ferrying the kids around and everything else… In addition, as I get older, I understand how women’s bodies change. How hormones can pose a real and significant challenge to energy, sleep, mood – and the rest. And I understand how much more difficult it is to lose weight and keep it off as you get older!!

So, for me it’s all about balance. It’s about trying to find realistic ways to live a healthy life without giving up everything I love and fitting it in around everything else that’s going on in my life.

It is possible and I became a personal trainer to help others achieve their own balance – their fitness/life balance as I call it. My business is called ‘Fit Around You’ because, like anything, fitness has to work for you and your life, otherwise you’ll never keep it up!

So, my approach is not a one size fits all. Everyone’s life is different and whilst some people love the routine of a set session every week, that might not work for people who work shifts or have other commitments that make life unpredictable. I therefore offer a pay as you go option as well as my other packages and offers.

I offer gentle beginner sessions right through to high intensity interval training sessions, mixing cardio with resistance training. I am also qualified in adapting exercise for pre and post natal clients (not to mention I have two children so I know how it feels when pregnant and after you’ve had a baby).

As a GGS Certified Women’s Coach, I am trained in the psychology of achieving your goals (including the additional barriers that women face), making lasting behaviour changes in the real world, women’s anatomy and physiology – including pelvic health, menstruation cycle and menopause, and fitness specifically related to women.

I can help you lose weight and learn how to keep it off, help you to tone up your core, build muscle and definition, and even train for events. Whatever your goal, I can help you get there. So what are you waiting for…
